Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take photographs? Unfortunately, the Cathedral rules state that no photography is allowed during our wedding ceremony or procession. Afterwards, snap away! You are,of course, welcome to take pictures of the building too. Directions about when photography is and is not permitted will be given in the ceremony. At the Reception venue, we will be displaying QR codes for you to scan and snap- that way all the pictures get grouped together in a big album for us all to see!

Do I get access to the Cathedral too? Yes, in attending our wedding you get free access to the Cathedral, so definitely go and check out this iconic London landmark if that's your thing!

Is there a dress code? We kindly ask for guests to wear formal/ semi-formal attire such as shirts and trousers, dresses, or jumpsuits. Jackets for men are preferable but by no means required. We would like all guests to feel comfortable which is the main thing. Staying away from things such as jeans, joggers, slogan/ graphic t-shirts and trainers would be appreciated for the ceremony and photo portion. It is worth noting that there are uneven staircases and cobbles to get down to the chapel, so please ensure your footwear won't cause you an injury.

Are children allowed?  Children and babies are allowed, if named on the invitation. We do not have any specific activities for children however, and the Reception venue does not have play equipment etc, so parents may wish to bring entertainment for them.

Can I have a plus one? Guests will be indicated on the invitations, any questions or queries about this please reach out to us as we’d hate to have forgotten someone! We may not be able to accommodate extra guests however.

Are pets allowed? As much as we would love to have your pets, sadly the venues disallow this excluding registered service animals.

What transport is available? Due to the ceremony and reception being in central London, there are multiple transport options including tubes, trains, bus, taxi, rental bikes and walking.  The Reception venue is approximately a 5-10 minute flat walk from the Cathedral. A map is included with the invitation.

Is there food? We will be providing bowl food, sharing platters and pudding at the reception. Please let us know of any dietary needs so we can accommodate them.

What is the bar situation? We will have a complementary wine and beer table for all guests. Once this is used up, drinks will be self-funded by guests.

Will there be a DJ? We aren’t planning on having a DJ or entertainers but will make a playlist for the bar and there is space to dance should you want to. Let us know if you have any song requests with your RSVP!

Is there a smoking/ vaping area? Smoking/vaping is not permitted on the cathedral grounds. The Reception venue does however have an outside courtyard where it is permitted.

Are there restrictions on bags? Guests will have to make their bags available for a search conducted by Cathedral security. No luggage is permitted and there is no storage for it.

What gifts would you like? The best present for us is your presence, so please do not feel obligated to give us a gift. If you are minded to, we will have a gift registry linked as well as a link to send donations towards our honeymoon depending on your preference but we are not expecting anything from you.
